Liene Circene
Latvian pianist Liene Circene has established an impressive career in the United States, Canada, and Europe with performances in Germany, England, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic States. In 2009, Liene Circene released her first solo CD recording of Latvian compositions, “Šūpuļdziesmas” (Lullabies), which includes not only lullabies, but additional gems of the piano repertoire by Latvian composers, including Kenins, Vasks, Garūta, Dārziņš, Aperāne, Raginskis and Vītols.
Latvian Youth Choir BALSIS
Latvian youth choir BALSIS is audible proof of the idea that “Latvia is the land that sings!”. Founded in 1987, the choir comprises both students and singers from various professions who share a love of music and excitement for choral singing. BALSIS has performed in North America, Australia, Asia, across Europe and throughout Latvia. The choir has triumphed in international choral competitions in China, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Russia and elsewhere and has been recognized for their artistic accomplishments in Latvia. BALSIS sings Early Music, Baroque, Romantic and 20th Century repertoire, and enjoys experimenting with contemporary works. BALSIS is also involved in collaborative and outreach projects with other organizations and is currently working on a new project of commissioning and recording new a cappella Masses from Baltic and international composers.
Ints Teterovskis
Ints Teterovskis has been Artistic Director of the award-winning Latvian youth choir BALSIS since 1998 and has been Principal Conductor of the Latvian National Song Celebrations since 2008. He is also the Principal Regional Conductor for over 20 choirs in Latvia. Ints is particularly recognized for his interpretation of the repertoire of Baltic composers. His imaginative and passionate approach to teaching choral technique and interpretation has him increasingly in demand as a choral workshop clinician, guest conductor and adjudicator in Latvia and abroad.
Sergejs Jēgers
Latvian counter-tenor Sergejs Jēgers Sergejs enjoys a very active international touring career, and has given recitals in Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Spain, USA, Canada, Finland, New Caledonia and other countries. When Sergejs is not delighting audiences with his wonderful performances, he teaches Early Music and Voice at the Latvian Academy of Music.
Andrei Streliaev
Andrei Streliaev has an active performance career as pianist, organist, and harpsichordist. He often appears in solo recitals, as well as in collaboration with many vocal and instrumental ensembles. Andrei also enjoys scoring and accompanying silent film music, and regularly performs in festivals in Canada and Latvia with virtuosic improvisation on piano, organ or synthesizer.
